And this is why you’re an armchair analyst, because you don’t know what happened.

Now part of that is on me for not giving more details. But I’ll give you a few more. Yes both times were open hand, but she hit his hard in the face both times. Very hard, a full wind up, not some sissy slap.

And I wouldn’t go to blows if he used force to prevent her from slapping him again. So you can stop with that accusation. In my head, how I thought the scenario would play out, before anything happened, was that this guy was going to hit her first, and hard. And I would go to blows over that.

My intervention was to prevent escalation, because it looked to me that that was were it was heading.

Once she left there is no need for retaliation, that is no longer self defense. That would be attacking at that point. So I would go to blows if he attacked her for some sort of revenge. But ultimately nothing happened and I quickly determined that I wouldn’t need to fight anyone, because he surprisingly kept his composure. But that doesn’t mean my adrenaline stopped. And the next time in saw him I wasn’t sure if he was going to attack me for some odd reason. He didn’t. But I was prepared to defend myself.

Unsurprisingly, you don’t have enough information to have a sound judgement on the event, because you weren’t there, and I didn’t go into great length describing all the details you armchair analysts love it fill in. I’m not aspiring to be some white night, you’re projecting some insecurity probably. Just take the L and move on. Cheers.
