Being unintentional does not mean something hurt or was harmful, but how we should react to it, how we should correct it, and what to label the offender does depend on intention. I’m not trying to sell you anything, but ask a group of people you label ignorant to be acutely aware of all cultural differences and possible offenses, and even some mind reading is silly at best. Especially if people of that race or culture aren’t all offended by this or that.

Calling it a cop-out to dismiss the inconsistency, difficulty, and lunacy you are asking people to perform, instead of engaging it is a pretty lame thing to do.
