In one sense yes the purpose of the gun is to shoot something, some do it for hunting, others shoot people, others targets. So that’s true, but it does not imply any sort of morality. It just is. Guns can and are very useful tools in protecting freedoms, rights, safety etc. but other abuse it for evil. So what you use them for determines if they are good or bad, useful or harmful.

It would be like saying that fire’s only purpose is to burn and destroy. That is sort of true. But we have found many useful uses for fire, and many ways to burn things productively.

So I think there is more to it than “guns are meant to kill” I think that is a little too simple in its substance.

Also, thanks for reading my article. I’m not popular so any reader is appreciated. It’s not very serious, but I just ask if you were fooled even in the slightest, or if my end reveal was obvious from he start?
