They are not discussing “poverty” in the sense of whether or not people have access to edible food, to clean drinking water, are living in safe housing conditions, have reliable sanitation access, access to reliable electricity, and so on.

It must be clear to you that practically no one is living as primitively as our ancestors did 1,000 yrs ago, or even 100 years ago. There were two main economic models in the last 100 years, capitalism and communism, and I can assure you the advances we made were not from communism.
