Well I don’t know if the authors of the Federalist count as found fathers in your book. But they did say this:
“…going through military exercises and evolutions, as often as might be necessary to acquire the degree of perfection which would entitle them to the character of a well-regulated militia…”
Now I’m no expert (according to you), but this statement of being well trained means they are well-regulated” might be relevant to your thorough study in the original intent. Then again, you might just call their statement obtuse.
Stating that they wanted the national government to control their access to firearms and militias is an obtuse view of history, to use your word.
